Project Overview
The California Association of Realtors (CAR) needed to mobilize their member realtors to turn out the vote for specific candidates who supported the industry in election races held in five districts.
The Goals
- Contact every member
- Connect to civic process
- Vote for favored candidates
- Turn a candidate race into a real estate issue
The Strategy
- Worked with field representatives and brokers to engage members by hosting meetings for candidates and setting-up GOTV events
- Planned and executed strategic canvassing in key locations in each official’s district
- Designed and developed emails and social media posts about each race to be sent out from regional representatives and community leaders
The Highlights
The Outcome
- Reached 100% of the targeted 5,000 people directly by phone, email, mail and events
- Activated 2,500 non-members to take action and vote
- Successfully won four out of the five races
