Project Overview
As part of their southeastern U.S. strategy, Wind Capital Group was developing a 200 MW wind energy project in the Everglades of Florida. To date, no utility scale wind energy project had ever been permitted in Florida, and the Sugarland project faced huge opposition from local and national environmental groups.

- Built grassroots support network of more than 2,000 local residents, including environmental activists
- Secured supportive resolutions from the three impacted Palm Beach County cities and 10 county organizations
- Built unprecedented community turnout in favor of the project at the planning commission and Board of County Commissioners meetings
- Won an award from the American Association of Political Consultants for Wildlife Impact direct mail piece
